NoMeansNo Impact Initiatives in PoSH – Recognised at Nari Utsav 2026

The Centre for Skill Development & Training (CSDT), through its flagship initiative NoMeansNo Foundation, continues to drive large-scale social impact through its commitment to workplace safety, gender sensitisation, and PoSH awareness across India. At the recent Nari Utsav 2026 organised by the Department of Women and Child Development (WCD), Government of NCT Delhi, NoMeansNo’s Impact Initiatives were recognised for their contribution to advancing safe workplaces and empowering communities beyond corporate ecosystems.

NoMeansNo Impact Initiatives: Driving Social Change Beyond Compliance

Conversations around women’s empowerment today extend far beyond symbolic celebrations. Across India, organisations, policymakers, and social institutions are increasingly recognising that true empowerment lies in creating safe environments—at home, in communities, and especially within workplaces.

Through its Impact Initiatives, NoMeansNo has consistently focused on bridging the gap between policy and practice by delivering awareness-driven interventions that promote dignity, respect, and accountability. These initiatives are designed not only to strengthen workplace compliance but to create a larger societal shift toward safer and more inclusive environments.

Workplace safety, in particular, has emerged as a critical pillar of gender equality. As organisations evolve beyond compliance frameworks, the role of awareness-led initiatives and social impact programmes has become central to building cultures rooted in respect and prevention.

Nari Utsav 2026: A Celebration of Grassroots Empowerment

Workplace safety, in particular, has emerged as a critical component of gender equality. As organisations strengthen policies and cultures aligned with dignity and respect, the role of awareness-led initiatives and social impact interventions continues to grow. This evolving landscape has positioned workplace safety not merely as compliance, but as a broader movement driving measurable social impact through awareness and prevention.

It was within this larger vision of empowerment and collective responsibility that the Department of Women and Child Development (WCD), Government of NCT of Delhi, organised the International Women’s Day Celebration 2026 at Nirmal Chhaya Complex, Jail Road, Delhi, under the theme “Give to Gain – Celebrate the Power and Potential of Women.”

The event brought together government leaders, grassroots functionaries, civil society organisations, and social impact practitioners from across Delhi and the NCR region, highlighting collaborative efforts aimed at strengthening women’s safety, awareness, and economic empowerment.

The celebration was graced by Rekha Gupta, Hon’ble Chief Minister of Delhi, along with senior officials including Dr. Rashmi Singh, Secretary, Women and Child Development, GNCTD, and Mitali Namchoom, Director, Women and Child Development.

A Celebration of Grassroots Impact and Awareness

The programme showcased the Department’s multi-layered initiatives aimed at empowering women across communities. Cultural performances by Anganwadi functionaries, skits by Child Care Institution residents, and awareness-building activities under Mission Shakti highlighted the importance of community participation in advancing women-centric schemes.

The event also featured:

  • SHG-led “Mahila Haat” promoting locally crafted products by women entrepreneurs
  • Nutrition demonstrations encouraging millet-based diets for improved health outcomes
  • Preventive health screenings and wellness guidance for women
  • Menstrual hygiene awareness initiatives promoting accessibility and dignity
  • Experience zones showcasing Anganwadi infrastructure upgrades and developmental programmes

These initiatives collectively reflected the government’s commitment to strengthening safety, livelihood opportunities, and awareness at the grassroots level across Delhi NCR.

Recognition for Advancing Workplace Safety and Social Change

At the event, Vipin Pachouri, Co-Founder of NoMeansNo, was felicitated for the organisation’s contribution to advancing workplace dignity, women’s empowerment, and awareness around the Prevention of Sexual Harassment (PoSH) Act.

Recognised as a leading PoSH Authority in India, NoMeansNo has played a pivotal role in strengthening workplace safety frameworks through training programmes, Internal Committee capacity building, policy advisory, and investigation support across sectors.

The recognition acknowledged the organisation’s sustained impact across social awareness and workplace safety, including its pro bono initiatives aimed at extending PoSH education and sensitisation programmes to communities and institutions beyond corporate environments.

Over the years, NoMeansNo has supported organisations across sectors through PoSH training, Internal Committee capacity building, investigations, policy implementation, and awareness initiatives designed to move beyond compliance toward meaningful behavioural change.

Collaboration as a Catalyst for Change

The celebration also highlighted several important government initiatives, including the release of a Compendium of WCD Schemes and departmental newsletter, the launch of the Juvenile Justice Management Information System (JJMIS) portal, and recognition of Anganwadi functionaries and women Self Help Group entrepreneurs.

The “Give to Gain” CSR collaboration initiative emphasised partnerships between government bodies, social organisations, and private stakeholders to scale awareness, strengthen systems, and expand livelihood opportunities for women.

Advancing the Conversation Around Safe Workplaces

The recognition of NoMeansNo at a government-led event reinforces the growing national emphasis on workplace safety as an integral part of women’s empowerment. Safe workplaces are increasingly being recognised not only as legal requirements but as essential drivers of participation, confidence, and economic inclusion.

Through its ongoing initiatives, NoMeansNo continues to bridge policy and practice, translating legislation into actionable learning experiences that help organisations build respectful, accountable environments.

Events such as this International Women’s Day celebration demonstrate how partnerships between public institutions and social impact organisations can collectively advance awareness, strengthen systems, and create sustainable change.
